The blooming roses and slowly (slo-o-o-o-owly) increasing temperatures are already having an effect on our psyches; while you may be all over our Summer Fest Guide, there’s an impressive event being held in Melbourne next week which will kick the season off in a uniquely metaphysical way.
In conjunction with Melbourne Music Week, the Stargazed Projection Art + Music Festival is holding its Underwater Galaxies performance at Ding Dong Lounge on Friday November 18.
Stargazed is a not-for-profit collective which matches emerging musicians and visual artists, resulting in expansive, immersive installations. This event’s theme promises to result in some stunning concoctions: in the vein of its title, Underwater Galaxies asks artists to explore their feelings of the unknown – “a place where little to no light resides but one where life surely exists.”
A line-up of psychedelic, shoegaze, electronic and experimental musical acts are collaborating with six different projection artists, and the entire experience will be performed in a transformed Dingers – we’re told it will be altered to resemble a submerged otherworld.
Tickets can be purchased here, and you can get more information at the Stargazed site or the project’s Facebook page or instagram. Meanwhile, check out the video below to get an idea of the magic you’re in for >>
